In December 2023, Digital Promise and our team piloted a BPL course, a product we developed with the institution. This pilot project profoundly impacted the twenty educators from Dalaba who participated in the training. In FY2024-25, we plan to continue supporting each of these teachers, monitoring their progress, and helping them assemble their PBL toolboxes. After completing the pilot project, we will use the resources and lessons learned to extend the PBL training and resources to 40 more teachers in Dalaba and its surrounding cities. By the end of the fiscal year, we would have enabled 60 teachers to run BPL classes effectively.
In FY 2024-25, we will complete building the digital format of the high and middle school curriculums. Previously, between 2016 and 2018, with the support of the U.S. Embassy in Guinea, the Resonate Global Missions, and individual donors, we trained a team of young professionals in e-learning content design. Between 2019 and 2022, the team developed the key math and science courses at the high school level in Guinea and made them available through a progressive web application called Jeune Espoir. During FY 2023-24, our team built about half the key math and science courses at the middle school level.
In FY2023-24, we identified and took a group of local entrepreneurs through some of our SLIC material: Life Economics and 32 Advice. Due to a lack of time and resources, we could not take the group through all the program phases. We select entrepreneurs struggling to make a difference in their lives and communities. In FY 2024-25, we will take these entrepreneurs through all four stages of our program.

JE received two grants and an online TESOL training opportunity from the US Embassy (2015) to begin teaching English classes for quality education and employment in the globalized digital economy. Through the first grant ($3,000), from November 2015 to January 2016, 34 youths completed each one of the five levels of the NewBridges ESL program. This led to a significant improvement in their English language skills, with many of them being able to engage in daily English conversations and read complex text in English. Through the second grant ($5,000), from August 2016 to Feb 2017, 95 youths completed each one of the five levels of the New Bridges program, further enhancing their language proficiency. Between these two projects, the staff of JE received funds from Resonate Global Mission to take 38 youths each through one of the levels of the New Bridges program. As a result of these projects, over 150 rural youth are now global citizens, with some finding English language-related jobs and others continuing their education in English settings. We are looking for donors to allow more youth to experience similar language skill improvements and be effective participants in the global economy.
We have been selected to implement the English Access Scholarship Program, commonly known as the "Access Program" or "Access," a U.S. Department of State-sponsored program. Jeune Espoir will receive 25k USD for two years to implement the program, which began in July 2024 and ends in June 2026.
