Our Board of Directors

Jeune Espoir is governed by a volunteer board of honest men and women passionate about Guinea’s holistic development. The board sets general policy, assigns day-to-day responsibilities to staff, and holds the organization accountable for transparent and efficient management.

Joyce Ribbens Campbell
Board Member

Joyce Ribbens Campbell

Joyce has worked for human development and justice through nonprofit and government institutions in the United States and Guinea. During her service with Resonate Global Mission in Guinea, she helped establish Centre Espoir, served on its board, taught English, supported the computer center and micro-enterprise programs, and led the youth group that preceded Jeune Espoir.

Jutta Cowie
Board Member

Jutta Cowie

Jutta is a qualified nurse from Germany with extensive healthcare and international-development experience. During many years of service with Mercy Ships, she focused on women’s empowerment and addressed period poverty among young girls in Guinea. Her work reflects a sustained commitment to faith, service, and human dignity.

Brenda Vander Schuur
Board Member

Brenda Vander Schuur

Brenda has more than four decades of experience in West Africa. In Sierra Leone, she established and nationalized an adult-literacy program. In Guinea, through Resonate Global Mission, she has served as educator, mentor, consultant, field director, bookkeeper, and administrator. She is a co-founder and administrator of Centre Espoir and several related community programs.

David Campbell
Board Member

David Campbell

David taught communication studies at Dordt College before serving in Dalaba, Guinea, from 1989 to 2013 with Resonate Global Mission. He produced radio programs and other recordings in Pular that were broadcast through rural radio stations in Labé, Mamou, and other locations.

Andy Cowie
Board Member

Andy Cowie

Andy is an international-development worker with a background in mechanical engineering and light motor vehicles. He served with Mercy Ships as a transportation manager, has taught English, and is known for practical problem-solving. His international service reflects a commitment to technical excellence, volunteering, and Christian service.
